Based on recommendations from a committee of health and policy experts, the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services published the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans in December 2020.
The Dietary Guidelines are a robust set of recommendations that go beyond providing information to consumers. They inform all government dietary guidance, determine national nutrition standards, influence agricultural policies, direct food and beverage product innovation, impact nutrition research, and guide healthcare practices.
