Andy Rooney, that curmudgeonly newsroom sage of the late 20th century, once observed that “Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.”

TraceGains, the leading compliance software solution, reached a milestone on that climb earlier this month when the company moved its corporate office to a more modern, growing tech campus nestled against the Rocky Mountain foothills. The company’s massive growth, driven by an expanding customer and supplier base, forced the company out of its older headquarters.

“We’ve put the pedal to the metal over the last few years, growing our customer base and expanding our product suite to meet the needs of the industry,” TraceGains CEO Gary Nowacki explained. “To have an effective product and optimally service our customers, we also invested in our employee base. We’ve nearly doubled our workforce over the last two years, and plan to keep up the rapid pace.”

The new corporate headquarters, just north of Denver in Westminster, Colorado, offers a wide-open layout that fosters communication and collaboration, team building, and innovation. With floor-to-ceiling glass walls that allow an abundance of natural light and a variety of fun and useful amenities, TraceGains has demonstrated an investment in not only the company but its employees as well. 

“Our team is what makes us an industry leader,” added Brittany Steffensen, PHR, HR generalist at TraceGains. “We wanted to provide a space that would show our employees that they’re valued and would help them continue to perform at their best. Our new space encourages open communication and innovative thinking with glass walls, collaboration stations, and thousands of feet dedicated to new growth.”

Company execs have planned for future growth as well, retaining first right-of-refusal for the space next door. But despite appearances to the contrary, the move involved a host of moving parts and nearly a year of planning. It also required the full-time efforts of four TraceGains employees, two of whom who’d been with the company for less than a week.

“It was like drinking from a fire hose,” Ian Buljung, desktop support specialist at TraceGains. “We had to learn so much so fast. It also took a lot of teamwork, perseverance, and a sense of humor.”
